Sunrise Virgin River

I was curious to just how this photograph would look with the

application of the Pixel Bender Filter. I think it gives it a very

nice painterly quality which I find appealing.

Really need to click on the larger version to appreciate the effect.  I was going to say that the colors looked a little off but they work great when embiggened.

I'll bet if you took a survey, you'd find over a hundred people on photo.net who have stood on this same bridge and taken a picture of this same scene. None have done it better than this one!

You right John, this is the most popular photography site in Zion. Mainly because it doesn't evolve any hiking or effort to get there. Ease of access, is the number factor here!

The only tough part is dodging the traffic on the bridge -- and the other photographers!

We were their at before dawn and left just after sunrise and we had just 2 or 3 other photographers to deal with.

Having the park nearly to yourself is wonderful. I was there the day before Christmas some years ago. There was a fresh dusting of snow. I was in the park about 3 hours before I saw another person. The light early and late in the day is great anywhere, but particularly magical in Zion. Thanks again for your inspiration.
