The only thing I've regretted when conversing this image to b/w were her

blue eyes...Pls. let me know if I've chosen the right amount of light,

contrast & sharpness. Can you feel her gentleness, calmness? Is there

something else, kind of elusive there? Thank You very much.

I love it.  One of your best.  You should try an older lens, though.  The background would be more relaxed and fit the subject better.  I know it's hard to take your expensive lens off of the camera!  best, j

Thnx Jamie. Maybe I should have used a 135 mm lens at it's widest f 2.0...After all it is a snapshot. Best regards, vf

I just want softer blur.  At 200 mm, opening up further than f/5 would change the way the subject looks.  135 mm would be long enough if you move in a bit.  The equivalent aperture would still probably be about f/5 if you wanted the subject equally sharp front-to-back, because you would be closer.  I do really like it.  I think it's great.  j

Thanx, I am glad u did, somehow I also have feeling that her facial structure was kind of pale, like it was missing something, good idea..

I think the original is better. the revised version is oversharped, which doesn't fit the mood of this portrait heinz

Great capture.  The b&w conversion is fantastic, especially the original, the softness is fantastic, just like some one's grandmother should be.  Thank you for sharing.

Best Wishes

David
