A lovely moment of companionship. Is he listening or not? Nice sense of place. You might consider croping the tree tunk out on the left. It seems to pull me out of the picture rather than framing the shot. Well seen. - Charles

I totally agree with Charles's comment. You might also try to gradually crop some background, either side or both (and top and bottom as well) - even making various attempts and each time seeing if it's better than before - in order to increase the importance of the subjects withing the composition. The trade-off of this operation would be the loss of some of the beautiful lighting and reachness of colours of the setting. All the best!

I would not crop this too tight. i think part of the beauty is the sense of space and place. there is a nice solitude in the shot which is created by the framing of the grass in the foregound and the surround of the branches on the right. Maye a little off the top would help tighten this up. - Charles
