It's very well done but I think it might be better cropped down from the top to remove a bit of that distracting background in the top left. I'd make it nearly square, myself, but your taste may vary.

I love the saturation, and the off center composition gives it a sense of the abstract that really appeals to me. Good job, keep it up!

This picture is amazing. Many of your macro shots, including this one, have an unexpected amount of DOF for the magnification, which in this case is close to 1:1. Can you offer any explanation for these astounding results? All of my experience is with film (Velvia) and a 105mm Macro lens. I had been speculating that the only thing I could do to increase DOF beyond what I can get with a small aperature was to use lens tilt to move the plane of focus, but that doesn't seem to be what you are doing.

I get this amout of DOF because I take my macro pictures outdoor under very bright light usually from the direct sun and with the smallest apperture possible (F8.0). It take a lot of patience because I can't see very well with the monitor of my digital camera when it is sunny. Also it must bee no wind or very little because my shutter speed is about 1/30 to 1/60, and rarely under the best condition at 1/120 second. It is also manual exposure, I set the distance manually.

Thank for your comment. Hope this information can help.
