Yes.....the grain definatly works in this image. Great capture, well photographed.....and good b/w tones!

Very nice. The grain makes it look as though the subject is walking into a large ball of cotton. A unique and original idea.

excellent image, Beau. i would have to say, though, don't listen to Jon F's advice. there has not been a digital camera yet which has noise that mimic's or even resembles true high speed film grain. someday, it will be the ultimate photoshop filter(to be able to add specific types of grain), but that is not the case, presently. i would suggest shooting ilford delta 3200, and make sure to use a bitchin' film scanner or you won't get the grain. cheers

I wonder why all that smoke was there... This reminds me of a scene from that Brad Pitt film, Meeting Joe Black (i think that was what it was called). Anybody know the scene I mean? ;o)
