Excellent tone and control of light. I feel the weight of the elephants, and the comfort of the little one.

Art,

Excellent composition.  Exposure & DOF bang on.  Limited tonal values handled very well.  The lighting adds to the dramatic weight(?!?) of the image.  Very well executed> Thanks for this one,

Rick

I love the composition, the light, the contrast and the wonderful textures in the elephant's skin. The sweet innocent face of the baby is moving. Very nicely done.

Great and strong image. The texture of the elephant's skin is phenomenal!

Have you read the book "The Elephant Whisperer—Lawrence Anthony"? Highly recommended ;)

I'd like to thank you all for your time taken to comment and rate this image. Anabela, I know of the book you refer to and it's an amazing account of these magnificent animals. As yet I have not read it in full:)

Great in-camera work Art as well as your Editing. You invite us into their world, one seldom seen by so many of us. I have only seen 2 elephants ever. One in a 'cheap' circus (I can't imagine how these animals survive in those conditions). and once in a Zoo where I last lived.

The elephant there was a 'rescued' elephant. It had been abused and it's tusks were 'sawn off'. The elephant seemed well adjusted to it's surroundings, and had the best of care. The young son of the Zoo owner was it's constant companion.

These elephants are exceptional, thankyou for sharing a bit of their 'existance' with us all.

Most kind regards, Gail
