sonneland 0 Posted November 4, 2011 Linda, first off what is the lovely flower? have even called my wife over to have a look but she also does not know what it is. if this is a strong file a suggestion would be to try a tightish crop around just the flower. all the leaves and stems add little to the beauty you have here with the flower, i think they actually detract from it. nice work! ldavidson 4 Posted November 4, 2011 Roger, thank you! I don't know what this flower is either. I have never seen one like this before. It was a vine, completly covering a fence and wall. I left the leaves in because I thought they were almost as interestingas the flower. I like the way the magenta stalk curved and swirled around with varying shades of green and purple leaves. If you should happen to discover the name of this plant let me know.Best wishes,Linda Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted November 4, 2011 Linda, i thought the reason you left leaves and vine in might have been to show it was a climber. i have looked through all our flower books and only one has anything similiar and its called Cybils climber, this book was printed in 1953 so if its the same one it has a bit of history. it also says is a rampant grower and should be kept under control. off the subject of flowers, how is your health now? i think the scariest word in the english vocabulary would be cancer. i sincerely hope it is all behind you now. all the best, roger Link to comment
JamieK 1 Posted November 4, 2011 Excellent, but I'd push the blur a little harder, to make it clear that that was what you intended. best, jamie Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted November 5, 2011 ... I appreciate your interest and help in identifying this flower. I don’t owna single flower identification book; I usually just rely on my husband orbrother-in-law who are the gardeners in our family.I have the worst kind of breast cancer; it is incurable, and very aggressive. Fortunately I have been in remission for seven years and holding. I am part of an international drug study in Edmonton at the Cross Cancer Institute. Several treatment arms were tested on patients all over the world. The drug they used on me was very toxic and I will never be the same, but I am glad I did it and I am happy to still be around. I think the new treatments that they are working on today are specific to cancer; they target and destroy only cancer cells, not everything. Thanks for asking.Smiles,Linda Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted November 5, 2011 It is a very unusual color pallete well separated FG and BG tonality. I have no knowledge with flowers but I think that you did a very mice composition with the diagonal framing and detaild og flower..I read what was ,and your answer about your health condition. Comming from the health profession in the past and interested of what is new there, I know that a lot has achieved in this special disease, and I hope it will be for the best result for you. Keep fighting! Creation is a good way! Link to comment
blue-olympus 0 Posted November 5, 2011 The flower displayed diagonally accross the frame with the blurred background is a real gem. Love the colour purple in photography and here it is displayed in all it's beauty....Regards Link to comment
