joseph_eiche 1 Posted November 3, 2011 This is a lovely photo of beautiful child. The detail and sharpness are great.I am not sure if I am bothered by the wing being cut off on the left side of the photo and moving her a little right might have made me feel a little more comfortable but overall I like the photo.Excellent job capturing this Halloween/fall scene, I like it. jrickert 2 Posted November 3, 2011 I agree with Joseph. A very nice photo. The fallen leaves are a nice touch. Link to comment
caincaptures 0 Posted November 6, 2011 Thank you Joseph and Janice...and Joseph I agree with the wing. The only problem is she is not a poser and runs around and you get what you get haha Should have titled this "busy bee" Link to comment
joseph_eiche 1 Posted November 7, 2011 Hi Julie, Do I ever know your pain. I have a bunch of friends that love it when I come over and take some shots of their kids. The problem is that they NEVER hold still and I end up taking 3 times the amount of shots that I normally need to get the job done. I always laugh and tell them child photography is harder in many ways than wildlife photography.Either way a great shot. Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted February 21, 2012 "Sweetness and Light" probably sums it up nicely. What I would rate highly about this image is the totally natural, uncontrived and very light mood that you have captured. Along with that great expression of course. Great outfit too, when I finally get to rule the world it will become compulsory for everyone to dress in this manner. : - )Sincere ComplimentsAlf Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 26, 2012 I like it a lot. The colors work and she stands out among the leaves beautifully. Her expression is like a little painting. You made nice use of the available light and your focus helps provide a sense of place without being distracting. I'm not terribly bothered, really not at all bothered, by the clipped wing. I often like something chopped off at the edge of a frame, though I can't always say why it works sometimes and is really distracting at another. Had you chopped off, for example, her foot, that could have been really awkward here, but the wing is OK. What I do notice is that I'm conscious of the vertical presentation whereas the lines of the fence suggest a horizontal feel. So there's an orientation tug that I'm feeling. Link to comment
caincaptures 0 Posted April 28, 2012 Thank you for your feedback. I always have loved reading your thoughts on my photos. I had never really looked at the fence this entire time, but when I did, I felt the same thing! Sometimes when I shoot, I notice I flip the camera all different ways to give me different perspectives of an image. I would assume this would be one of those times. I hope all is well with you Fred. I never get on here very much anymore, but I am glad to have seen your comment. Take care and thanks again! Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted April 28, 2012 Who is this angelical little bee? Lovely image Julie, and your model is formidable! She transmits these unique mellow character that float above every happy children, your skills to capture the context and essence is remarkable. As Fred told you, the chopped wing don't seems important, and for me her feet could be "lost" inside the bunch of leaves. I mean, the axis of these work is well achieved, her overwhelming character, intelligent, lovely and impish. Link to comment
