Butterfly

Thoughts on this one appreciated. Also let me know if you

like/dislike the frame. I was looking at a framed photo I had on my

wall and tried to reproduce the double matting etc. Thanks.

The photo is great - very nice composition with the angle in the tree occupied by the butterfly and the "matching colours" and lines. Very sharp too. I like the way it has movement, even instability - many butterfly shots are too static. Nit picking now: pity about the grey thing in the background under the butterfly's body.

I like the way the line on the tree ends in the top right corner. Would it have been possible to have the top of the branch placed in the bottom left corner?

As for the frame, I find it a bit too busy, but appreciate the way it mimics the butterfly's wings.

I would like to see more colour-detail on the butterfly. Or the background less distracting.

The placement of the butterfly wasn't great due to the sky in the background. I was shooting looking up about 4 feet above my head.

Nice composition of the foreground, but the background is very distracting.
