Thanks for viewing/comments! Every now and then, Mr. Kestrel would

comes down to the field and perch on the branches (very ideal situation

to shoot at low level) and even though I had over 7 times to get a shot

like this, this is the first time I have ever got one. I do wish I had gotten

him without the 1.4X but I did not want to risk taking it off while he flew

off ... :-)

Wow. I've shot birds a number of times, and I know there's a lot of waiting and luck. But the better you are, the "luckier" you are, and obviously you are very lucky. This exact moment you've captured shows him as he (she?) is changing direction, and it gives a great sense of the control birds have in the air. I love seeing that. And you have good equipment, but even so, getting a shot like this in good focus is incredibly hard I know. Excellent!
