afternoon sunset (probably 10 minutes before closing time :-) ) , hence, a

bit of high ISO @ 1000

Great capture. It's the shot that I want but rarely achieve.

Thanks Marvin! I have had the same problem with shot like this since I got them soft focus or blurry at least 8-10 times before this one. The last 4 got very good pose and background color (soft green) were taken with the 1.4X and were soft. So, this time I actually took a chance and put the lens down on the ground to remove the 1.4X. That seems to work for this shot with just the 500mm, much faster focus and tracking did it, I think. Also push the ISO up to keep the high SS to ensure as well.
