Wonderful portrait Pierre ! Seeing the large version shows off the sharpness in the image with excellent DOF . I like the toning and clamping the pipe in his mouth has given that strong look . Excellent ! Bill

Looks like a tough guy, but there is no smoke from his pipe, so I think he's just pretending. Good shot.

A great film portrait.

The Canon 50mm F/1.8 FD lens is a  well designed lens. It is a shame that Canon made the mistake of changing over to the ES (now EOS) series of lens that do not allow the original FD series to work on their DSLR cameras. The adapters offered for FD to EOS mounts reduce the performance significantly.

This portrait capture is sure real and the expression is priceless and very natural, I like the lighting here and the fine details obtained out of the man face while the tone is superb and creative which well enhanced the quality of this work.

Pierre, great portrait. Being an old pipe smoker I recon a twisted whiff of smoke rising from the bowl would look awesome. That aside, great work as always. The character of the subject is captured. Regards. Bob

Wonderful portrait work, showcasing you as a master craftsman!  This photograph has several very strong elements:  enough detail to show what appewars to be a scar on your cousin's chin; his facial expression, especially the lowering of his eyebrows, the hint of sepia tones, and the excellent lighting.
