I wish the figure wasn't in the bg, but like it anyway.  Effective use of dark tones and minimal lighting.

I love your captures of your young ones Emmanuel. Handsome young lad with the expression of 'wonder' at this 'new mode of transportation'. He 'knows' he has just accomplished something 'wonderful'. His expression is 'priceless'! Lovely mood you've communicated with your choice of black and white and the lighting is very attractive for this composition.

The highlights are in all  the right places, the DOF nice and soft, excellent presentation as well!

One day I shall learn to be this skilled - at least it is something to aim for.

Thankyou for sharing this 'moment' with us. I loved watching my own children DISCOVER 'for the first time', and marvelled at their expressions when they realized just what they had accomplished.

Gorgeous frame, Emmanuel... I can sense the pride & joy in this major accomplishment too -- I relate to this personally, as our little daughter just started to walk as well over the last few days.... I haven't managed to capture her as nicely as the above photo, just yet :-)

Emmanuel...  Congratulations to you and the new walker.  Give him a few weeks and you'll never be able to catch up with him again (the voice of experience).  Fantastic b/w treatment and quite dramatic.  I was so taken with and focused on the youngster that I didn't even notice the figure in back until my second or third look.  Very well done...
