Guest Guest Posted October 17, 2011 Two different ratio of lighting from the left of the face to the right side makes this portrait work very powerful and of great technical quality, the skin tone here is another outstanding element and so the rest of the man dressing colors, the back ground blue color has well isolated the main subject here and enhanced the composition of the work. Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. Link to comment
william_staniforth 0 Posted October 17, 2011 Thanks Rashed , his compextion is very ruddy , but seeing it on PN it seems far more saturated than I intended . I've noticed this on several of my images and I'm not sure why . There seems to be a shift when uploading . I will have to start checking and making adjustments . It maybe my calibration that is at fault . Thankyou . Regards , Bill Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted October 18, 2011 John seems to be a very 'soft hearted fellow' at least by the way he is portrayed here, gentle eyes and smile. A fine portrait of this fellow Bill.He has 'smiling eyes'...........I hope he is a good friend, he seems to me to have a 'fine character'.Warm regards, Gail Link to comment
johnborg 0 Posted October 18, 2011 You have focused well on the nearest eye were focusing should be. I like the somewhat harsh light and shadows suitable for this portrait of this aged gentleman, as it brings out more details in the facial details and beard. The contrast gives a punchy and striking image which immediately grabs and holds your attention. I particularly like the back lighting (I assume) coming from behind the right side of his face. Just a suggestion . . . this would make a perfect image in black and white due to the nature of the subject and lighting used. Best regards and thanks for your latest comments on some of my images.
