Rainbow Wall Oasis-Riverside Walk-Zion (View Larger)

I was hiking to the Narrows on Riverside Walk in Zion National Park

when I happened upon this unusual scene. Not only did this little

oasis seem out of place, but the wall seem to be covered with oil. I'm

sure it was the early morning light, that was hitting the wall at just

at the right angle to create a rainbow on its wet surface. I was

thrilled about finding this photogenic scene but the rainbow put the

icing on the cake. If you view this image larger you will see the

rainbow effect much better.

This was a very cool place to photograph!  and worth the second long hike to shoot in the early morning light and without the glare on the rocks...Ray

 

This is an interesting phenomenon, and quite spectacular.  It pays to get up early when you can capture lighting opportunities like this.  Was this trip a '2 Amigo' trip? 

I too, didn't want to make that hike again but I think it was worth the effort. Too bad, I dropped my glove and had to half of it again. At least I had a good companion for conversation.

Yes this was a two Amigo trip and a very successful one too. Thanks Christal, I thought this was an unusual phenomenon in a very photogenic setting.
