mark_kay 0 Posted April 21, 2003 This duck walked into the wrong territory... Eventually the beast let him go. I do have a sequence of images including one of the duck falling back to the ground.. Comments welcome Link to comment
jiyang_chen1 0 Posted April 21, 2003 woa. Never seen this before. What kind of bird is that? Looks like an extinct species of some kind. I would've like to see rest of the animal instead of the wasted space above the head. Do you have pictures of blood spewing out of the duck!?!?!? hehe. Link to comment
john_vant_slot 0 Posted April 21, 2003 What a shot! My other thoughts: Although the shot is really about the top right, I would like to have had more of the large bird...to give some perspective. Link to comment
richard blount 0 Posted April 21, 2003 It goes to show, always have your camera with you. Amazing, You have captured the moment perfectly. Link to comment
phillip m. bolin 0 Posted April 21, 2003 I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this thing is supposed to be extict. What is it? Link to comment
mark_kay 0 Posted April 21, 2003 Thanks for all the coments. It looks prehistoric but it is an African Shoebill Link to comment

briany 0 Posted April 22, 2003 Judging by that duck's expression, it looks like he wishes he'd gotten supplemental insurance ;-) (Aflac)What an amazing shot. Congrats! And that beast is huge!! Link to comment
evan_mathison 0 Posted April 22, 2003 This has to be one of the very finest wildlife images I have seen in 30 years! ... Your technical stuff was together, but your timing was immaculate! ... What a rare treat to witness this duck being put in his place by his Dinosaur like neighbour ... I was very glad to see that he/she does not display the slightest sign of wanting to devour the protesting little critter!... It's a GEM! ... Let's see more ... My thanks, Evan ... Link to comment
zcreem 1 Posted April 22, 2003 I love this because it just doen't look real, if you made this yourself no one would believe the composition. It goes to show life is always stranger than fiction. The Dodo thing must be huge, don't want to mess with him. Congrats again! Link to comment
cliff_krauter 0 Posted April 22, 2003 This is just friggin incredible, it's rare to see a capture of nature at work. Excellent timing, beautiful composure Link to comment
jame_cohn 0 Posted April 22, 2003 I'm sure you had your camera going a mile a minute on this. and yes I agree with the above this bird doesn't seem that it should be alive at this day in age. Link to comment
michael_wagner2 0 Posted April 22, 2003 Amazing capture--great timing! Those who would criticize your framing of the subject are FOS. Link to comment
alfredo_saavedra 0 Posted April 22, 2003 I looks like a pelican, which is one of the largest birds on earth. They measure up to 6 feet in length and teir wingspan can reach 10 feet! The duck seems to be on the small side, however. Great shot. Link to comment
