Hi Sam,

This is a wonderful portrait of a beautiful bird.

It appears as if this was a closer range shot, which suggests that this bird was rather tame.

Nice work.

Best Regards,  Mike

Hi MIke,

thanks very much for your appreciation of this image of a wonderful bird.

I'll attach a screenshot of the shooting data + the original image, where the bird stands alone.

However it isn't really on its own as thousands more birds are around. At that location, Fortuna Bay in South Georgia, they are not afraid of human beings as they're never ever been hunted during their life.

So, in a way, they might be considered tame but I think that is not the right word as a tame bird has overcome its fear for hunters of the Homo sapiens variety, who are abundant in other parts of the weird wild world, where H. sapiens is armed to the teeth & shooting anything that moves &/or can be eaten.

As you can see, I've used a telephoto lens but I wasn't really very far away from the bird, maybe a couple of meters only.

Well, you curiosity may have been satisfied now.

Cheers & enjoy your Sunday!

Sam
