Hi Oksana,

There are a lot of good things about this photo that I like. For example the composition, sharpness in the face, and the depth of field (blurred background). If you're happy with the soft light and narrow contrast, then just enjoy!

If it was my photo then I would like the dog to stand out just a little more from the sand. The challenge is to do this without changing the "character" of the dog! Only you can decide how much to change without the dog becoming a "different" dog!

I'm no expert in this but my approach in post-processing would be to work with the histogram. You might first try adjusting the levels (black/white points) while making sure that the dog's color's stay soft enough. After this, you could experiment with shifting the midpoint from 1.00 down to about 0.95 or 0.90. This will darken the midtones. Finally in the post-processing tool you use, you could also try increasing the contrast.
