This guy was relentless in his struggle to find a fish... with much

success, he found a quite large rainbow trout... almost seemed the fish

was bigger than the bird.. Thanks for looking.... DonnaT

The moment is brilliant...what "ruins" though an otherwise very promising shot is the background. It's too distractive, it prevents the viewer to focus on the osprey. You have chosen f/7 as aperture and this choise in combination with the DOF created by your lens and the distance to your subject make the background clearly visible.I again though repaeat that the moment is excellent, you are talented...keep shootinfg wildlife!

Thank you John & Theodore for your nice comments and critiques...  I agree on the background... I wish I had changed the Fstop before he dove in...  He went from very light to very dark in the water very fast.  I have some shots of him in the trees, diving in and dancing around grabbing this large fish.  I also have one of him leaving the water where I barely was able to get him in the frame that I posted.  The fish was so large he had trouble keeping it in his grasp.  I love waiting for the moment to happen... it invariably does and it takes a lot of patience for something that may never come.  But I find if I blend into the scene, they get so comfortable they don't even mind my being there, but it is an all day thing to hang out and wait for nature to take it's course.  I do enjoy it and thankful I now have the time to work on my hobby in hopes to someday be a profession - I'm sure it's everyone's dream, but that's the beauty of it.  Wildlife photography is a passion for sure and am my worst critic.
