Excellent capture of the moment and remarkable exposure value, superb clarity and fine details, the b/w is as usual and along with the contrast and tone are of very high technical quality, the expression on the ladies’ face is very interesting and your composition is outstanding.

Thank you my friend for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

Hi Ruud,

Nice capture.

I often see moments like this with people either on bikes or in cars.

Your image emphasizes that every street candid has a complex story associated with it. While we do not know what that story is, the capture allows us to contemplate our own state as we try to relate to the emotions of others.

Best Regards,  Mike

This would make a good companion to your other photo (Good news...!?) of a happy woman riding on a bike with a cell phone. Another nice capture.

Ruud,

You have received so many laudatory critiques that I will not repeat all the compliments.  However, I see something that no one else has mentioned.  Try this experiment: look at the picture and trace where you eyes go.  In my case I went right to her eyes and face - then I looked at the expression of worry denoted by her fingers and saw the cell phone.  My eyes made a quick excursion to the man with light pants in the background (a white trap) and then I glanced down to the handle bars and bike parts.  Then I went back to her face and looked at her hands.  Notice that at no time did I look at the right side of the picture.  That suggests to me that the right side is unimportant and may actually be hurting the composition.  By holding up pieces of paper in front of my monitor I cropped out the right and just enough of the left to get rid of the fellow with the light pants.  I think that is a much stronger and emotional composition.  Without my intending it, that put her face and hands into the famous thirds position with the end of the handle bars in the diagonally opposing thirds.  If you crop slightly into her side on the right it makes a perfect 4x5 ratio image.

Ruud,

There's not much one can say without repeating what's already been said! Yes, . . . You've done it again, . . . as you do over and over! Such wonderful street scenes and catching the moment's of real day to day life!

I do like how this photograph naturally draws my eye to her face! Very nice lighting too!

Regards always,

Jim j.
