Impressions of Annapolis

mediumformat

From our weekend day trip in Annapolis, MD, which is very rich for photographers. This is taken with my Windsor plastic camera at the city dock. It's the rigging for a very wonderful sailboat. (Note: image is not meant to be sharp).

Spring image at the City Dock in Annapolis, MD taken with plastic

medium format camera (like Diana). Shot on expired Ektachrome E100S.

Any comments or critiques welcome --- thanks for looking.

I like the density of the image, and the in-focus vs out-focus elements make one very aware of the camera itself. That could be a good thing or not, but I think it works here and seems to be a part of the aesthetic of choosing to use something like a Diana or a Holga etc. The movement of the lines is rather chaotic and I like that and the lack of simplicity,( which is sort of an overvalued characteristic IMO).

the lighting technique is really interesting, as is the angle, but the content is a little abstract. it may improve with a slightly larger border. again, though, the lighting stuff is really neat
