Lilly Close Up

Fooling around with large format macro. Scanned on Epson 2450.

The curve is nice, though I would have preferred to see the focus such that more texture on the petal was visible. I don't think the vertical petal on the left adds to the composition, especially as it is slightly overexposed - I prefer it when I block out this part of the photo so that the curved petal stands alone. The only problem then is that it becomes unclear what the subject is, always a problem with macros taken so close, but then I suppose it becomes an abstract and can be judged as such.

Nice. Not your typical flower portrait.

I love the way the focus is done. It make you concentrate less on what this is and appreciate it directly as an abstraction.
