As photographers we all have attachments to our images but we may be

the only ones. There can always be a emotional value that others just

don't see or are nor interested in. This is no prize winner but I like

the feeling and composition.I remember a time when a “non

photographer” described my photographs as “nothing but trees, rocks

and water.” Now, that did hurt my feelings, and I passed it off that

she didn’t know much about photography, but as I mentally reviewed my

work, she was largely right. Was she trying to hurt my feelings or was

it the way she saw my work. I’ll never know the answer to that, as I

can only see things through my own head. Anyway, here’s a trees and

rocks, sans water photograph. Is that all it is, I’m not sure, but it

seems a lot more than that to me but I could be standing alone and

delusional.

I love this trees and rocks but no water scene. It's an unusual comp but it works really well. The foreground boulders are eye-grabbers. There is something funny going on in the sky though, Leo. There is both a haloing around the boulders and branches and some odd-looking texture in the sky.

Well Leo I see considerably more here than Trees, Rocks, and no water. I see the quiet beauty of a well composed image, with superb exposure, excellent detail, lovely subtle colors, and your trademark pixel bending. Excellent work IMHO!

All the best,
Neil

Marc - on behalf of Leo, he is using a plug-in called pixel bender and he has a whole folder of images using this plug-in and he indicates that with the name of the folder so i don't believe that I am giving away any secrets.

I love trees and rocks so I like this very well crafted image. I take lots of similar images but just to make sure people don't think that is the only thing I photograph, i just uploaded an image of pigeon poop. (*_*).

The combination of HDR and then the Pixel Bender filter made that ghosting that your seeing. I guess I should have corrected that with a little cloning. My bad! Anyway, Marc, thanks for stopping by and commenting, I do appreciate you taking the time.

Let's not care if they only see trees and rocks and water. We see what we see and that's what counts. I think this is a wonderful photo and am now going to look into the pixel bender thing. Your trees and rocks and no water have inspired.

Cheers!

Hello Leo,

I have never seen this technique before, but I find your image appealing and interesting. It is a work of art. I love the details on the ground, the way the light dissects the scene and the colors. It really works for me. Looking forward to looking at your portfolio.
