Tunnel View, Yosemite National Park
This is the famous "tunnel view" of the Yosemite Valley, with El Capitan on the left of the image, the Bridalveil Falls on the right and the Half Dome in the background. It is called "tunnel view" because this is the vew from near the tunnel exit from Route 41 entering the Yosemite Valley.
I was there for three afternoons in a row. In the first two days there was beautiful cloud around the Half Dome but El Capitan and the falls were dark. In the 3rd day there was good sun light but there was no cloud. However, the angle of the sun formed a nice rainbow at the bottom of the falls.
Shot with an 80mm lens in 645 format (similar to 50mm in 35mm format) at 1/180 sec, f11 and Velvia slide film at ISO 50.
