3m 0 Posted September 17, 2011 What an unusual vibe and movement present in your photo... The fluttering of the brightly colored birds against the (cool /frozen) blue BG scene depicted, conveys a striking overall feeling. I wonder if cropping (very slightly) from the bottom and left might possibly further enhance the flow of movement to the RHS of the photo..? Kind regards to you, Marjolein Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted September 18, 2011 Thanks for your observation, I worked hard to find the right way to composed it, your offer included as well . I decided of this one because I liked the lower dancer's foot angle that leads to the LHS on one hand ,and makes an imaginative diagonal to the birds direcion. I have some versions of the scene that I'm still working on, I uppload another one for you and others to see. ( not final yet). Link to comment
3m 0 Posted September 25, 2011 I see what you're saying, Pnina, and I agree with you -- my thinking was more to eliminate the slight bluish part on the LHS, thus cropping into the black part, and getting a little more of an off centered composition as well (which emphasizes the movements towards the R). However, looking at your 2nd upload, a more vertically elongated format might work there (echoing the vertical format of the mirror(?) beyond, & without a movement to the RHS), as the inclusion of the black shadows on the LHS is important to the overall feeling of that photograph, imo... pnital 36 Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks for your follow up,and writing your point of view. As it is a play/dance/ this element is a stage in a stage...(I know it is hard to understand it with only a few photos, and still....)In the srtory after the prince died his statue was placed in the center gate of town. So I upload another photo in that thread to see one more part of the story. I hope it helps ;-)) Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted September 26, 2011 Pnina, we read the story of "Happy Prince" by Oscar Wilde, in our school . Those days it was difficult for a small boy to appreciate value of " the leaden heart and the dead bird". I used to feel sad for the Prince & the Swallow. Your admirable capture of the beautiful choreography, brought back many memories of sixty years back.Admirable shots and choreography.Thank you, Pnina. Link to comment
