You have a pretty model here, she is very much relaxed and sound competent dealing with the camera and the photographer, your lighting is also well set an so the softening makes this image work very much pleasing and attractive, the blurred back ground also helped here to isolate your model and it is a credit to this fine capture.

Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best.

This black and white image is very beautiful as well. The lovely softness of the DOF is the perfect backdrop for this shot. I like the space she occupies in this image as well, (excellent crop).

Very nice editing and camera work Sadegh!

Kind regards, Gail

Sadegh,

You have a beautiful daughter with a lovely smile. You have been blessed.

She has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). You have focused well on her eyes. Her skin tone is very good -- as is the contrast.

The background is nicely out of focus and she is well separated from the background, but the combination of light and dark areas behind her is somewhat distracting.

She looks a little too much bent over. I don't think you want to have her right shoulder up that high. It actually looks a tad uncomfortable -- not quite a natural looking pose.

I would like to see her right hand a bit more on top of her left hand so that it was viewed more from the side. That would make her hand appear even thinner and more graceful.

The lighting is nice, but more pronounced catchlights would give her eyes more life. One catchlight, mostly on the iris, positioned above the center of the pupil is usually preferred.

You should lighten the dark circles under her eyes by adjusting your lighting or by lightening the shadows.

I am not sure that positioning your daughter in the lower left corner of the frame does much for this shot. One reason to include a background in a portrait is to establish a relationship between the subject and the background. It adds a more meaningful pictorial expression to the subject. It makes the picture more complete -- it tells a story. You may try to imply something about the person’s character or nature, or perhaps, their occupation or hobby.  Everything in the picture should coordinate with everything else. Everything that is in the portrait is there for a reason and should help tell the story of the subject. You should ask yourself if the subject is relating to, and reacting to the background or setting in a meaningful and natural manner. People look more relaxed and comfortable in a location that has some sort of meaning for them. They just seem less posed and out of place. There really isn't anything interesting, or that appears to relate to your daughter in the rest of the frame. It therefore becomes wasted space that could have been used to move in closer to your daughter and create a nicely balanced composition. This would also give you the opportunity to have a background that was less cluttered with shapes and tones.

Including your name and the date the image was made in the lower right corner (on the mat) is appropriate and looks very professional. The advertising (Sadegh Miri Photography) on the mat would be better placed on the back of the photograph. For some reason it did not appear on the page where I created this critique. It looked much better.

Nice shot,

Mark

Hello Sadegh,

Excellent work.  The light, the positioning of your model, and the way she looks into the camera, make this a very strong picture.

I only wonder if it would become an even stronger picture if you would work away the white area in the background.  This is area takes away a bit of my attention.
