I like the composition here. This scene sure has a 1950's or earlier feel .  I too am curious about the imprint on the sky. It is part of what gives this shot such an old feel.

I used a modified version of a setting called "triste" in Silver Efex Pro 2. That produced the effect in the sky. There was some other processing too, so it's really a cumulative affect of all of the processing. I use Silver Efex Pro for most of my B&W work. It's very versatile and powerful.

Chuck, I'm not at all sure about the sky but the rest of the image really works. You get better results out of Silver Efex than I do but, I suspect, that you have used it a lot more than me.
