Quiet Romance on the Water

I like to believe in the romantic nature of this capture... The title

was obviously inspired by the two silhouettes in the boat returning in

this calm and otherwise quiet summer evening. There is a B/W version

of this photo that some may appreciate more, but I prefer this

slightly colored version (no post processing other than a bit of

exposure adjustment) that underlines the time and location better.

What do you think?

I like the dreamy romantic nature of the image, the out of focus vegetation and the misty distant mountains adding to the theme. The silhouetted figues themselves look good too, well defined against the pale backdrop. The only thing I might have done slightly differently was to allow more space to the left of the frame, in order that the boat was heading into the frame rather than out of it, but that is a very minor point and doesn't detract at all from my overall enjoyment of the scene.

In my mind they were returning so the larger space on the right. I should have tried more than once and selected the better one. But I've got only two that evening: this one and another one with a fisherman in the same kind of environment.

Beautiful limited color palette. I like them heading out of the image. They are off on a romantic adventure after all. Soon they should be out of the view of any nosy observers.
