Viewed Large you will see that it's got a thick coat of insects.  On my computer I increased exposure to look into the shadows at the radiator, and as you may well imagine, it's covered too.

Fascinating!   What's the story behind this?  What kind of bugs were they?  I've never seen enough bugs on the islands to do this.

Steve,  this photo was taken in Colorado near Estes Park in a parking lot.  The owner was hiking the same trail we were on so I was unable to find out where he ran across so many insects.   Some sort of Midge, but that covers a lot of territory.  I'm off to that part of the world again soon.  Aloha.

Love it.  We had the same experience since we always drive to many places to take some landscrape pictures.  For example, we drive almost 5,000 miles last September, from Los Angeles to Jasper and the places around.  Best Regards,
