davidmccracken 2 Posted September 6, 2011 The date on the coin is 1901. The girl's nipple is a littleyounger. I was fascinated by the similar size and so thought I wouldsnap them together. I tend to think it works better in black and whitebut I am not 100% sure of this. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted September 6, 2011 What I find interesting about the color version is the it is actually quite monochromatic. The color tones are so similar that the effect is not all that different as compared to the B&W. I think this needs something else, something with the lighting maybe, to make this less clinical. I do like the two versions, though. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 7, 2011 What an idea, I bit it worth much more than the coin here, superb lighting and very powerful details, the colors version work so well for me and it do bring out the textures of the skin and the details of the coin remarkably.Thank you for sharing it my friend and wishing you all of the best. davidmccracken 2 Posted September 9, 2011 Mark, I do get you with the 'clinical' comment. This was simply an exercise in size and colour. I will try to do a more artistic image next time. Thanks a lot.Jim, Not ever 2 cents I am afraid. Your time is worth more. I thank you for that.Andrew, I am not quite sure what the WOW factor is here but I am glad you found it.Rashed, The coin may be worth more than the image I am afraid. Sadly the coin is not mine and will have to be returned to its owner. Maybe I will borrow it again for a few more photos. Thank a lot for you very kind words.Michael, Strangely I had planned to use the coin for several weeks now. It wasn't until I saw this particular girl's nipple that I thought the two would go well together. Maybe not so much imagination as luck. Thanks a lot. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 9, 2011 I suggest that you fly me to Hong Kong and let me flip the coin to decide which treatment works better. I might have to flip it quite a few times, though...and perhaps reposition it as well.Actually, in this case, I think colour works better. Colour shows the patina of the coin better. And for a detail shot such as this one, I think the skin tones work better in colour as well. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted September 10, 2011 It would be my pleasure to fly you to Hong Kong. Unfortunately the coin does not belong to me and say it might be a wasted journey.Your comment is interesting. After reading it, I now prefer the colour version. Who knows? Maybe after another comment I will prefer the black and white version again. Link to comment
