robertbrown 1 Posted April 9, 2003 Comments, ratings appreciated on this spring landscape shot. I was trying to get a sense of depth and visual planes--daffodils; fir trees; distant valley, bay and mountains; and foreboding sky. Thanks for comments and suggestions. Link to comment
vicki_huynh 0 Posted April 9, 2003 I definately get a sense of visual planes and think that the plane with the bay works very well and the plane with the clouds is especially dramatic. The plane with the trees don't do much for me by themselves but, since the trees are much darker, they act as a good separator between the daffodils and the bay which are almost the same shade and tone. I also like the slight vignetting around the edges but am uncertain about the use of the soft focus in the foreground. Link to comment
ian_macdonald2 0 Posted April 9, 2003 Rather painterly with the lovely flowers in the foreground & the brroding sky. IMO the horizon is too close to centred but apart from that it is a lovely image. Link to comment
scottua 0 Posted April 11, 2003 Good use of color. Nice burning of the bottom corners, helps hold the attention. Link to comment
mountaineer1965 0 Posted March 10, 2004 As I have been browsing lately I've noticed a trend with scenic photo's on this site....originality is almost always rated low. This shot would be a great example, clearly it deserves higher than the 3's and 4's I see on the rating page. I say that not because I haven't seen pictures like it, but because I feel it safe to say a good number of people would have chosen to either stay in that day or not shoot a frame because of a lack of "magic hour" color. From what I can see in this image it looks as though you shot what was probably the only "keeper" composition on this day. And that too me adds originality points. Good job!!! Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted March 10, 2004 Thanks, Craig, for your comments! It was a cold windy day. Also, be aware, Photo.net ratings have risen over time. Link to comment
