Hi, comments on the photo--especially on the toning of the b/w image,

composition and overall mood appreciated.

There is so much empty space on the left in this shot and it works well. I think it gives a long distance for the boat to row into and also gives a sense of scale. Almost a solitary mood

One thing that bothers me about this is that the second boat person's head is obscured in the darkness of the background.

Yeah, that bothers me too--but it was dusk and the sun was setting..this was a spontaneous shot, maybe a fill flash would've worked...hmm. will have to go to the lake agian. :)

Hi Yasir,

I really like the composition of this picture. I notice that there are no oblique lines in the picture and it depicts serenity and great calm. But the presenc of the boat, psychologically , gives a sense of motion. If the boat was on the left end of the picutre, that would have imparted a different kind of effect ( since the motion of the boat is to the left, that would mean that the subject is about to leave the visual space). Although i did not find much tonal variations in the picture , but it still does the job very well. Great work.
