well done in getting your snow to look pure white rather than gray, its not easy. I like the relflections in the water.

Len, I haven't looked at everything in your potfolio, but I wanted to find and comment on one of your best landscapes. This may well be it... it's literally pretty close to perfect.

 

Earth tones and snow contrast = excellent. Composition of creek flow thru image is just right (I wish the water was just a wee bit more open on the right, but you had no choice in the matter... I think you were at the best spot). It's all good; so good I might clone out that 1 wee bit of weed top 25% from left at bottom. That's the only picky advice I can give.

 

I've done a few winter watercolors. This is what they look like when they come out really beautiful. You don't find too many in photos.

Greg, Thanks for the validation. I no longer submit photos for rating now as ratings alone don't tell me anything except, maybe, someone thinks it sucks or is a masterpiece but not why\why not. I'd much rather have a comment such as yours which indicates that there was some thought behind it and then a reasonable solution presented on how to improve it. I recently received an e-mail from a popular PN photographer who claims that a shot he thinks is full of technical blunders is in fact one of the most popular posts on PN and indeed one of his best selling shots in spite of these technical problems. So even though you can't please everyone you can please yourself & that's my goal, to make pictures I can live with. I agree with you because I liked this scene when I saw it and still like the print. Best, LM.
