Thank you very much Michael - I am glad you liked it. I hope the summer went well for you and you have completed your major project.  All the very best -

Tony, this is really interesting to me, compared to the previous colour version, this image offers me something completely different. The last image was about the land, this one to me is about the sky. I really like it. its amazing how black and white and slightly different composition ie landscape can put such a different spin on an image, to me i prefer the colour one, however this is still a very very good image. OK i just looked further into the imsge, and its not just about the sky, but the sky in this one is more dominant than the previous one :)

That's the first thought that popped into my head.  A breathtaking shot, whether taken yesterday or the 1800s, or by Adams himself.  Great composition and contrast; perspective is perfect.

It's always a pleasure to see your beautiful work Tony. The family is doing great in the new house, we're all settled now. I had taken the summer off and I've been back to work for two weeks now. Our vacation in the Rockies was very pleasant. I had a glimpse of the beautiful scenery you went through on your trip not long ago. Hope all is well. Mike.

Richard:  I appreciate your comment.

Black and white and the way the color was converted to Black and White, can give a different feel and perspective to an image. It is a scene that I "worked" with several images including experimenting with a panoramic series of images that I have not had a chance to process. I was awake at 5 in the morning to get to this place and had gone a couple of days in a row but I was rewarded on this particular day. Would not want people to think that this image 'just happened'.   It took perseverance, work and luck.

Good to get your update re the new house. I am very pleased to see your Alberta Sulfur mountain image - great sky. I took that cable car ride up to the mountain and held my breath and when I got up there it was quite cold (due to elevation) even though it was quite warm down in Banff. When you have time, you should post some new images to Photo.net and I will be sure to visit.

All the very best

A timeless document in b/w. Technically this is a very strong photo, the focus is perfect, and while you cover a very wide range of the grey scale (from the light in the clouds to the shade of the hills), it's very well exposed too - at least imho. Guess you took it from the curve up on Timothy's hill? :) Compliments for the entire St. Kitts series

El - thank you for your very generous rating and insightful comment. I did not realize you were this familiar with St.Kitts. The road leaving Timothy Beach Apartments towards the South East peninsular leads you to the roadside view where every local and every tourist stops to take a similar image. You have to climb the hill (above Timothy)  to the very top to get this view.  I made several takes from this location on different days but I keep coming back to the series of shots made on this particular morning.

Hoho Tony, I'm quasi your northern neighbour ( at  least part of the year). It's just a 30 minutes jump from St. Martin :)  7 times the week. From Terres Basses to Basseterre...:)

Very beautiful image.Very well composed shot with a fantastic sky rendered with nice tonality.Only thing I would like to mention that I would like to see it larger for those details of FG.

My best regards.

Kallol - thanks for your generous 6 rating and your constructive comment. I am always hesitant to go larger after some of my images have shown up on three different sites without my permission and one of them selling them. I don't get money for my images and don't see why they should. I get far more satisfaction from standing on top of a hill early in the morning enjoying what unpredictable nature has to present and trying to produce an aesthetic and quality image as opposed to trying to make a sale.

Wow Tony... What a sky!  The color version is superb but this has a drama not found in the color.  Great tonal range and excellent detail as usual... Thanks for sharing... Mike

Thanks Mike and I am glad that you like it.  You and El do some superb black and white conversions so you both have inspired me to do my best especially as I perform very few conversions. I used CS5 for the initial conversion and then back to Capture NX v1.3 for some final touches.
