stp 6 Posted August 30, 2011 I like photos like this of single trees with varying backgrounds. You apparently had some ground fog and a rising sun -- the hint of red on the right is trying to say something. The sky has a great range of density of blue. I'm wondering if this is due to the fog or whether you used a polarizing filter.I believe the photo is level, but what is a photographer to do when the pattern of light and fog produces a background line that appears to be slanted? Sometimes I choose to make the background look even, as long as it doesn't make the main subject look awkward. I think if you "straightened" the background, this tree might end up leaning too far to the left.To my eye, the photo looks oversharpened. I see that in the upper branches on the right, many of which have halos surrounding them. I'd suggest that bare trees and fog go very nicely with a softer approach when sharpening. Link to comment
