My first dog photo with the N80 & slide film. What do you think?

I like the lighting, dof, and pose, but think it might be even better if it were cropped closer, so the bed is all we see.

Yes Brian, I would crop it so the bed is the only thing you see, the windows and the drapes do distract. If you crop it then you see better the two lights used the blue cast coming from the window and the yellow light from the nightlamp ;)

great lighting, and an adorable dog. I think cropping out the curtains, corner of the bed, and the pillow would make it look much more proffessional.

Because the environment is aesthetic - a bedroom of magazine !- I dont see any reason to crop. The composition is very nice and the curtains fit well with the tone of the bedroom (here, no curtains with large flowers orange and bright pink...!) Plus, with this version, we have more information about your dog's life :it is allowed for him to jump on the master's bed. With this information, this old dog "seems" to be more comfy, more happy etc...and for that, an emotional element is added. In the other version we guess that is a bed but we are not absolutly sure.I hope my "point de vue" can help you. And un gros merci for your comment about my pic : "Looking around for a cat".
