This is a second edit of this Capture. It was first done a bit more

fancy. I chose to do it this time to show the details of the Rose and

it's surroundings. As I have kept close watch to the Weather on CNN

and our own Weather Network these past few days, I couldn't help

think of the many fellow PN Parnters/or perhaps their families far

away, who have had to deal with the enormous 'load' on their minds

and bodies, just to stay safe. This is not the first weather related

emergency for many, nor will it be the last. But to be uprooted from

your home, not knowing what you will find when you return, must be

a terrible burden for many. Those who are able, will just be content

and relieved to be 'alive and unhurt'. But our homes are our Refuge

from the daily 'Storms of Life', the place we return to for 'Relaxation

and 'Family Times', the place we make most of our 'Treasured

Memories' in, it is our 'Point of Reference', our 'PLACE' here on this

Planet we call Earth. Our Earth is changing and the weather is the

evidence of this very change. No doubt, Hurricane Irene will dwell on

the minds of many for quite some time. And those of us (such as me)

who have been affected very slightly, well, at least for me, my

Prayers go out to any of you in our Community who have been

affected by this unfortunate 'occurance' during the last week of

Summer. May we all 'dig deep' to help those who need our

assistance in 'recovering' from IRENE. No doubt we may see some

images from fellow PN Members of this few days of 'upheavel'. I

hope those affected will return to their homes with little damage, and

their memories for the most part 'in tact'. From the Heart.....Gail

It isn't easy to take flower pictures, especially red roses, this one is much easier though because it's pink exactly where it should be colored, much more details that way! Well positioned and framed!

Best regards Gail!

Beautiful rose Gail. Captured just perfectly, lovely delicate exposure of the petals and rich green leaves fading into rich black shadow. Very nicely done with a really well balanced crop.

All my best,  Bill

.............. Bless you for your thoughts of your countrymen during Irene's visit. May it be short and not too damaging.

Best wishes.

Great work.  The darker background makes the subject more attractive.  Like a painting.  Best Regards,
