frigo 4,155 Posted August 24, 2011 Hey Olaf,Very kind of you to comment on this photo.Thank you.The scene is common here as lobster boats are small and the sea is usually quite agitated.Best regards-Laurent Link to comment
ryourth 0 Posted March 29, 2012 WOW!! Great action shot!! with great colours.Looks like this could be a precarious occupation at times. Regards-Ross P.S> Beats me how this can be rated in the 4's Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted March 30, 2012 Thank you for appreciating. This was taken before coming to PN and I have a series which I will post eventually. For the lobster fishermen, season opener like here is the most touchy as the boats are loaded with gear so any rough sea makes it a lot more tricky.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted November 17, 2012 Windy weather this one! May be a little too much engine power...Life in the sea is hard! Best regards. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted November 17, 2012 You may be just right about the pressure on the throttle.Season opener is a race for the better spots and these small boats have to make two trips to take the allocated 300 lobster trap limit to the fishing areas. The first trip is allowed at 6:00 AM sharp and quite a spectacle as the whole fleet is in a race to get to their assigned area in half darkness. The second trip is more individual as the boats have to return to port, load up and make it back to their spot. This shot is of a second load trip and in full daylight.Thank you for the knowledgeable appreciation.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted November 17, 2012 Merci pour le text Laurent! As I told in my comment, life in the sea (and in the fishing activity) is hard and sometimes cruel, I think that you agree with me. I know very well by my experience, I've spent about 4 years fishing (in South Africa, in Mauritania, in Guiné-Bissau and in Canadá). Those strong memmories will stay with me until the rest of my life...One of the best things about PN is the possibility to share, to see and to learn about almost all the experiences of the world! Take care my friend! Link to comment
