color 3 Posted August 22, 2011 This is another shot of my garden hat. It's a grayscaled from color HDR image. I was going for a rustic look. Your comments? Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted August 22, 2011 You got the look correct for rustic and natural. HDR works well in b&w for some subjects and this one works. Link to comment
jpk 7 Posted August 22, 2011 Generally I'm not a HDR fan, but this photo looks pretty natural and I really like it very much. Link to comment
corbin 0 Posted August 22, 2011 Simple graphic composition with rich tones. Very effective use of HDR to highlight the natural textures of the subject. Excellent lighting too. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted August 23, 2011 I would have never thought that the famous HDR was used here! It is a good example how is it to be used! Great texture, tones and moody subject!Best regards Chuck!PDE Link to comment
color 3 Posted August 23, 2011 Hi Guys,I'm glad you enjoyed this and thanks for your comments.Well the same odd look that can make HDR look fake can be useful for grayscale. BTW, in addition to the HDR treatment I did a fair amount of dodging and burning in this, as well as selective sharpening in various modes. Link to comment
