A rare sunny afternoon for August at Seaside Beach, just north of Fort

Bragg, California. Thank you for your time.

Pierre - Thank you so much for your critique.  I average a 10-15% decrease in brightness and 15-20% increase in contrast after conversion to jpg and web-size (@ 1200px longest side).  Occasionally, these polarized shots can really throw off my work-flow, nor do I get to see them by someone else's eyes.  I have returned 10% of the brightness to the jpg in case of future posting.

Andrew - I thank you very much for your comments.

I spent seven days on the coast, and drove 35 miles on 3 occasions to get a good shot at this beach.  First two trips the area was smothered in fog, on number three I was fortunate, even though the sun was quite strong in the afternoon, and one could see the fog just a mile or so off shore waiting to creep back in.  Was I fortunate, prepared, persistent, or all of the prior?  Does it matter?  I am pleased with the results.

I like the movement of the water and the muted reflections, it doesn't appear too dark to me, though I guess a lot is down to personal taste. Maybe cropped a bit too tight at the top?  but I'm sure you will have your reasons for this. In any case a delightful beach scene.

Best Regards

Hi Alf, so glad you stopped by.  I pondered this one for some time: 6x12 with tight margins, or 8x12 with lots of lifeless blue sky.  I value your opinion, here is the 8x12. Thank you for your time...
