First impression when I laid my eyes on this one was - Awesome! The gentle kiss given shows us how our wildlife never cease to show us their side of gentleness - Your timing was perfect. Suddenly, I wished that I could just step into your capture and lead them out and into the African bush here in South Africa or even better to Botswana. You have certainly touched the strings of the heart of a true African who loves all creatures great and small on our Planet and hurts every time she sees them behind bars as if they are sentenced to imprisonment. Thank you so much dear friend for sharing another one of your fantastic works.

I like your editing technique. You are able to enhance each and every picture. Very well done! Best wishes, Olaf

They can be such wild and terrifying of all beasts, yet like any other species, they have their need for tenderness and a sense of love. They appear so peaceful and content. Your zoo must have great 'habitats' for their animals.

As per usual, fantastic editing and presentation. I sure do hope you do a book one day Art.  These images are too beautiful not to be seen by more people.

Kindest regards, Gail

thank you all very much for your comments and ratings support. Gail as always your kind words are well received. As far as animals in captivity is concerned Melbourne zoo is recognised worldwide for its facilities and its breeding program with endangered species. The sad truth is that the purpose of zoos is slowly shifting from one of only exhibiting animals to one of ecological sustainability. nothing will ever replace animals in the wild, granted, but the importance of zoos cannot be underestimated either. thank you all once again

Nice composition and superb pp Art. It truly conveys an amazing feeling of tenderness...

To Art X, sadly the human choice of sustaining life to the "cutiest" and controlling what should be "natural" disgusts me immensly. Nevertheless, your picture is and will remain one of the best!

Beautiful and tender moment. Wonderful photography and treatment as always, Art.  I like this dashing of a concept - that male wild animals could not be tender or bonded together - of course, this concept is the root of 'naturalizing' many aberrations in human behavior as well (crime, war, etc. but I think competition and cooperation both are natural).  Although yes these are animals subdued by captivity - and there will be thoughts about that - so are we.  And we are capable of the most mad, mundane and tender things.
