Tony ,superb shot! Admirable composition, very good exposure and colors. Wisp of waves on the sands create an effect of ethereal beauty. Compliments!

A.K.  Thanks very much for your kind words. I took quite a number of these shots  because this type of image is not predictable and I had no access to a computer on my recent trip. I appreciate your visit and all the very best - will be back much later today to see what is new with you.

Hi Tony, great finish. The long exposure has given a very misty beautiful finish. Very innovative.

Thanks,

Harsha.

In this particular case--as virtually an abstract--I think the blue polypro line is fine and adds to the image; and, in fact, is an element of the image.  Well seen and composed.  Cheers!  Chris

Harsha, Sidsel and Chris - your visit and feedback is invaluable. Hope you are getting some fine shots and I must visit your images to see what is new.

I see it as Chris said as an abstract, not only because I can't recognize what is the blue stuff!

Best regards Tony!

I like it too.  It's almost as if the blue rope is on fire with wisps of smoke coming off it.

The jetsom is an interesting addition to the composition. Not what you usually expect (perhaps that makes it bothersome.) Nice catch on the movement of the water. Good color and detail. - Charles

It adds.  Even trash can be attractive.  I especially like the color contrast of the bright blue set against the white of the water and reddish-brown of the sand.

Tony:  I didn't know what I was looking at until I read the text.  Now that I know and have looked at it, I don't think the blue rope does anything.  To me it's still confusing; somewhat of a hodge podge.  I think the natural elements alone would have been sufficient.  Alan.

You have identified all of the things that drew me to this scene. I knew the blue would contrast well with the reddish/brown. I had to try several shots before getting this one.

I appreciate your candid view on this image. I do have images without the blue rope. All the best,

Tony:  I apologize if I came off too harsh in my comments.   I really like your St Kitts photos especially the beach scene North Friars bay - St.Kitts.  Best wishes.  Alan

No need for an apology. I would rather get your candid view than a low rating without explanation.  I had a couple of goals when I approached this shot - I was looking for a line which I found  starting at the bottom left and running through to the upper right. I also wanted a slow shutter speed for a visual effect re the water. Then I looked at the overall colors brown, white and almost black and felt I needed a bit of color contrast to give the image a bit of a punch and i found that in the blue rope.  All the best and glad you liked the other image mentioned by you.

Tony:  My take on ratings is I only gave one once. Someone asked me to rate his photo.  I gave it a 6.  For my pictures, I don't ask to rate rather critique only.  If I got a 7 it would swell my head and a 3 would tick me off.  Neither would help me take better pictures.  I'd rather know what worked or didn't work so I could do better next time.  Stay well.  Alan.

Wanghan - thanks.

Allan - I can see your perspective and I took a look at the image you rated and it was a good one.
