Strange lighting, and shades, the big shade on the neck is somehow totally different from shades around the nose...

More info about the IR?

Natashenka,

You have focused well on the eyes of this very pretty girl. The background is nicely out of focus and she is well separated from it. She has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer).

There are a couple of things I want to draw your attention to...

She has a very nice smile, but the left side of her mouth looks different then the right side. It might be the lighting or something that happened in Photoshop?

The skin tone and contrast are not bad, but a little more contrast would make your blacks bolder and whites a bit more vibrant.

Your main light looks good, but the problem may be that you positioned your fill to your subject's right (your left) a bit. This would lighten only a part of the shadows and make it appear you may have used two fills in different positions. This may be what is bothering the other people critiquing your photograph.

Your backlight or kicker on your right (her left) would be better if it was farther behind her so that it doesn't spill onto her left cheek. It is also highlighting the wrinkles on her neck.

It appears the main light is lighting only her right earring. This makes it quite a bit lighter than her left one. This draws my attention to her right earring. If they were closer to being the same it would be less of a distraction.

Her make-up looks very natural, but a little eyeliner under her eyes would frame them and make her eyes stand out even better. It would be nice to have a little more mascara on her lower eyelashes.

She could use a tad more headroom and you could add a little space to the left (her right) side -- or crop a bit off the right side. This would give her a little better left and right compositional balance.

Notice the neckline of her top. The viewer's eyes will go to the “V” formed by the sides of the neckline and follow it down and out of the photograph because there is nothing there to stop them. You should try to crop below where the “V” of the neckline comes together so that the viewer's eyes have a place to stop.

Nice shot,

Mark
