Gaylor Lake Dawn (View Larger}

This has always been one of my favorite photographs that I have taken

in Yosemite. Gaylor Lake is accessible from Tioga Pass (11,000 feet)

and is a near vertical trail of about a mile. The rangers placed slabs

of boulders to form steps which makes this very steep trail climbable.

I had to take frequent rests, as the oxygen was thin and my 48 pounds

pack heavy. I reached the Lake just as the sun was rising and the

mosquitoes were beginning to feed. The ground was soggy, and boulder

strewn but this view was breath taking.

This is a HDR, which is composed of four exposures to contain the

high dynamic range. Although I have also done this as a regular image,

I thought the Pixel Bender might also give it merit. To some. it may

be a little too saturated, but it just seemed to fit with the

painterly aspect of the Pixel Bender filter.

 I have your other version of this capture hanging in my living room.  This version has a very painterly quality to it which I like very much! If I was rating this it would get four Aces with a duece kicker..Lefty

i cant comment of the technical process to produce this excellent work ,cause its to for above my skill but can with what knowledge is have

nice refection of clouds and sky in water

beautiful contrast

nice balance

touch of reddish flowers in foreground..nice touch

noce blend of colours withe the grass,grey

i can see the clouds coming over head
