20110813 Juno Beach Pier Lightning

This is 2 images stacked on top of one another using Enfuse plugin for

LR to blend the two together. It is basically the same process as

layering in PS and then changing the opacity to let lower layers bleed

through. It took a little dodging in PS to make the lower layer of

lightning more visible but I like the result. Each image was approx 2

minutes long and in case someone thinks I was crazy for standing out

in the lightning, I was under the roof of an outdoor rain shelter :-) My

son and I were taking long exposures and hoping that somewhere in the

exposure we would get some neat affects. Let me know what you

I know exactly where the pier is located as I have done quite a number of photo sessions there and at the beach.

Your composite image is well done , as is your exposure values for the lightning event.

I am not the one to judge your sanity level, as I was outside under the storm clouds with an umbrella in an open field by my home. The lightning was dropping in all directions, from overhead to the ground.
