One of the fastest growing plants known, the water hyacinth can double

their population in just two weeks clogging up the lakeshores. These

plants become problematic if uncontrolled and can unbalance natural

lifecycles. These fishermen are engaged in a team effort of clearing

these exotic plants from the lakeshore. After three weeks of continuous

rainfall in this area an overcast but very cloudy morning provides just

the conducive time to do this kind of job.

These water hyacinths are really a nuisance to local fishermen. It is a contributing factor to the Metro-Manila's flooding too. They need more volunteers to help clear these hyacinths. Thanks for showing.

Excellent image that really pops.  Your explanation is most helpful and enhances the image.  Question?  What makes this HDR?  Why wouldn't you achieve the same image with a regular shot with good processing?

Thanks for sharing this image.  Regards, Larry

First of all, thank you for your remark and I appreciate it.

To answer your question, this is NOT an HDR work. This is a single exposure and post process in CS4. To complete the post process, I used Nik Software's Viveza 2 and played with the 'structure' slider. I hardly used any saturation but added 'color intensity' from the image/match color window. Sharpening was done as a last step then cropped to my preference.

Attached is the original RAW file for your reference.

Thanks and more power.

Lester
