This image is digitally altered as I wanted to go with a softer almost

High Key Appearance. SOFT ? It's just the mood I was in at the time

and still am. Love between a Daughter and Mother has so much

more importance since my Mom passed...not that it wasn't important

before, but I no longer can just call my Mom up to ask her advice, tell

her some great thing about Shauna and the children, share a joke, or

just call....just because....just because I could. And say 'I Love You

Mom'....just because I could. My afternoon spent with my Daughter

Shauna and the grandchildren Shaelyn and Kael felt like a big 'COZY

HUG'. Every moment of every day I am so thankful that they are

mine. Thankful to know when they are well....safe....but that moment

does not last long in my case, and the worry begins. Cherished

moments that fill my heart with a 'love that is larger than life', fills

my 'cup to over-flowing', and makes me feel 'worthwhile as a human

being'. These are the 'moments' that make my life worth the living.

And somewhere in between.....I just may close my eyes long

enough, and let down my guard unknowingly, to catch a few hours

sleep. Soft and gentle images that fill my mind as I drift off to sleep.

Please know that this is not meant to be a 'perfect portrait', for I know

little about processing Portraits, that time for learning will come. For

now, I am satisfied with gentle images - less than perfect, much

like ......LIFE.............thankyou for visiting, sincerely, Gail

Great eye contact Gail. When softening the skin always avoid the eyes, mouth, nostrils and hair. Most important part in a portrait is the eyes. They have to be sharp. You can tell so much from a person’s eyes. That is only my opinion. Hope it helps.

Joe

Yes it does Joseph, but I don't know if you read the commentary, I know nothing about editing and actually taking portraits. But your information will come in handy when it is time for me to take it more seriously, for the moment I am trying to learn my camera and just the plain basics of Photography better, seems I've worked a bit backwards. But hopefully I'll catch up quickly.

Thanks so much for your visit and kind advice, I'll jot your advice down in my notebook. Kindest regards, Gail

I feel you did a great job in the composition part of it. Concerning the skin tones it is superb, you made them look like angels telling us that everything is perfect.. The expression are calm and serene looking right at me! Gail a very elegant image. Remenber every experience is an opportunity! Warm regards my friend.

Hi Gail,

Outstanding presentation. The "mellow-look"  is excellent for portraits

The clarity of your fine lens shows well , as a good image remains a good image no matter whether it is a high key ,low key , or no key !

All the best,  Mike

Gail,

I have always said a person's eyes are the key to there heart & you my friend have done a excellent job capturing these two beautiful kids.  Thanks for sharing your heartfelt story & beautiful portrait.  Take care, Patsy

What is obviously noticeable here is the similarity of the facial features particularly the eyes and the lips that are very expressive of love, care and affection to each other in a meaningful relationship especially the closeness of the faces in this photograph. Your treatment is imho just secondary (which is beautifully done btw) but the way the photo exudes these expressions make this image very remarkable. Your title therefore becomes very appropriate.

Beautiful portrait, Gail

Best regards! - Lester

Although there's always a hole left when someone passes, it sometimes gets filled by the reflected light of those who remain.  A lovely note to accompany a precious capture.
