I met this 8 month old puppy at the beach the other day. This was his

first time swimming and playing fetch. I think he found his bliss.

......... a lovely "action" capture here, full of movement. One can see the happiness in his eyes.

The bigger picture shows good clarity and definition in his head (love the eye highlights) and the blurred paws accentuate the movement aspect.

Purely as an observation....... as he is coming towards you, you may like to consider a portrait presentation with a little more foreground for him to "move" into............ just a thought.

Great capture, well done

Regards

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could find bliss this way??? So simple, natural, and no demands or need of anyone else??? (not saying I don't like people, but we all are alone at one time or another).

Great shot, full of action, good detail and do like your crop! Hope you are still enjoying your summer, hopefully no fires yet???

Best regards, Gail

Linda...  Outstanding!  Both your shot and the unbridled joy that this pup is displaying.  Yeah, we could learn a lot from our pets, if we'd just move beyond ourselves...  Excellent work... Mike

Thanks guys!  I am always interested in any feedback anyone has, of any kind. It is good to hear your thoughts.

Grayham, I appreciate the suggestion of more foreground. I did try it that way. I cut a bit of the foreground out because, to my eyes, it seems like he is jumping right out my screen. I am always open to other opinions though. Thanks so much.

Gail, he was definitely “following his bliss” as Joseph Campbell suggests. The pure joy of discovering for the first time in his life the pure joy in retrieving, what he was made for.

Still no fires, there was a small earthquake and a few floods, but not near us.

Ruud, thank you. Nice to hear from you.

Michael, there is definitely unbridled joy here. This is what I love, when I see it in dogs, kids and sometimes adults I feel a bit of it too. He is lucky he has discovered his life’s purpose while still so young.

Andrea, thank you.

Ricardo, thank goodness for 8 frames per second.

Grigoriy, thanks so much.

Patsy, thank you. I decided to convert to B&W because I felt the bright colours distracted for the mood.

Gallego, thank you.

Niki, thank you.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Linda, it's as if he/she is so full of beans they are walking on water. Great conveyance of the energy of youth!

Regards, John (and Harry)

Dogs can imbue joy like no other creature.  They're happiest when they're at their soggiest and most disgusting.  I love the wave that its kicking up.

Wow Linda,

You have captured a gem here.  This is bliss.  Dogs really have it made.  I love the action and intentness in this image.  Looks like a wet golden retriever.  The B&W is perfect.  I love it.  The main question, since you said you just met him, is whether he is the newest member of your family?  Capturing action like this is difficult.  You have done a great job.   Keep enjoying the summer and the outdoors.  Bernie - my border collie - sends his regards.   Larry

This is a great hilarious moment. It reminds me the race runners children play( adults as well) with a stick in the hand running fast to bring it to the next sports person. It is  a very nice and creative moment and well executed. I'm still smiling, what a joy! as the water, and his ear are 'jumping" with him....!;-))

Larry, no, he doesn’t belong to us. He was with a young family that was next to us on a beach, we didn’t know them, but chatted with them. We were all so entertained by their dog’s enthusiasm and pure delight in retrieving. I was at the edge of the water when I shot this. I had my camera set at high speed continuous, I believe that’s 8 frames per second, which really increases the odds of getting a half decent image. Say hi to Bernie from me.

Pnina, I think you mean a relay race. I love to watch dogs play, they happiness in so contagious. Nice to hear from you.

Volker, thank you!
