OctoberFjord (recropped)

atle.g

Recropped it to appx. 4/5 ratio, Some color adjustment to get a slightly warmer tone. I plan to put it up for sale to tourists this summer and i guess 20 by 25 cm is a normal format to use. See The original for comparison.

Closing in on a final crop.... But might consider cropping more of

the bottom, any thoughts?

I think the more square image is much better than the original. I'd keep the lower part of the frame and not crop any more, though. I think the detail in the foreground puts one nicely in the scene. It's a very nice shot and nicely balanced as is.

Don't crop it any more, it's great the way it is. I prefer the cropped version. It's warm & cold at the same time! Nice.

I would leave it how it is as well. I had a look at it in Photoshop, and though it looks good cropped higher at the bottom, it doesn't look as nice as this version. It also loses some of the appeal that will make it sell better. The large areas of blue, green, and red are very enticing.

Do you manage to sell many photos to tourists?

Wow! Georgeous! The foreground stands in such contrast to the background I am wondering if it should be there. Considering the background on its own, it is not often such a dramatic and well toned landscape can be created. The deep rich moody colours of the background become trivialized by the bright red and white of the foreground. It is as if two independently perfect photographs have been melded into one. I am not convinced that the "whole is better than the sum of its parts" Either way I will do my best to move this image up in the ratings!

Wow, really nice shot! This one stands out in a really great portfolio. I like the cropped version much better too.
