Top notch capture. Colors, lighting, contrast, angle of flight all come together for a superb image. Only critique, a personal preference-I'd crop/clone out the boulder as well as most of the beach strand along the top edge-they draw the eye off the subject and the in-flight appearance of the bird. (would leave just a shadow's hint of the water/strand blend along the upper edge for image depth.) Definitely one for the wall.

I see what the other comments mean about the background, but to be truthful I only noticed it on second look.  The only thing I could see on first look is the exquisite detail in the eye and how perfectly the head is framed by the wings.  Excellent shot... Mike
